Many divers prefer to dive with a buddy, but sometimes experienced divers may want or need to make dives without a buddy. During the self-reliant diver course, you will learn about the potential risks of diving by yourself. You will learn the value of equipment redundancy and necessary back-up gear. You will develop skills for self-reliance and independence during three open water dives. This course is not only good for self-reliance but makes you also a stronger dive partner for your buddy or in a team. To start the PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty course the minimum requirement is an Advanced Open Water certification and 100 logged dives.
Want to do more specialties? The PADI Equipment Specialist course would be a nice addition! As a self-reliant diver, you want to make sure your equipment is in great shape before you go into the water. Click here for more information.
