The most common question after a dive is: What was that Fish? With the Fish Identification Specialty, you will learn more about fish and how to recognize them. You will enjoy your dives even more when you recognize the creatures that you see and can identify the main fish families and their characteristics. In two open water dives, your PADI instructor will learn you how to identify the fish families. When you find out to which family the fish belongs, it makes it much easier to look it up and find out its local name. Also, in this course you will learn about Fish Survey Techniques, identify characteristics of local fish, and learn about Project AWARE activities that can help protect aquatic life.
